JT12 Tekke Turkmen Torba, Turkmenistan
Torbas were made by young girls as part of their dowry and consequently were mostly of the highest quality using only the best dyes and wool. The six-gul torbas are the most sought after by collectors and this superb example from the mid 19th century is no exception. Although missing its flatwoven back, it is in excellent condition overall. Size = 1.04 x 0.43m (3'-5" x 1'-5").
