BM235 Timuri Namazlik, Western Afghanistan
A beautiful little namazlik (prayer-rug) of the Timuri tribes made around 1870 in western Afghanistan. The indigo-blue field depicts small trees in a three-dimensional effect - very cleverly portrayed by the weaver. In excellent condition, this rug retains its original brocaded skirts. 1.32 x 0.92m (4'-4" x 3'-0").

A bold and absolutely superb Soffreh of the Baluch tribes of Khorassan, north-east Persia woven circa 1900 and in mint condition. The weave is extremely fine and the natural colour superb. 4'-2" x 2'-2" (1.27 x 0.66m).

Early Baluch Namazlik, North-West Afghanistan
This unusual rug belongs to a very rare group of Baluch tribal prayer-rugs - possibly from the area of north-west Afghanistan bordering north-eastern Persia and Turkmenistan. It has a natural camel-hair field colour covered with a multitude of stars. In good condition overall with some minor wear, this rug is highly collectable. Size: 1.34 x 0.97m (4'-5" x 3'-2")

MAC3 Timuri Main Carpet, West Afghanistan
A beautiful example of the so-called 'Adraskand' carpets - made by Timuri tribes during the third quarter 19th century. Measuring approximately 3.05 x 2.13m (10'-0" x 7'-0") the carpet is in very good condition albeit with some corrosion in the dark-brown wool due to the iron mordant eating the wool over a considerable period of time. Wonderful natural colour providing a subdued palette.
